Gender equality in food policy is a fundamental issue in addressing global food security. Despite women playing a critical role in agriculture, particularly in developing countries, they continue to face systemic barriers that limit their potential. This study explores the importance of gender equality in food policy, focusing on empowering women farmers and its potential impact on global food security. The research employs a qualitative library research method, analyzing existing literature and studies on the topic to understand the challenges women face in agriculture, such as limited access to land, credit, technology, and decision-making processes. The paper examines how overcoming these barriers through inclusive food policies can increase agricultural productivity, improve food security, and enhance nutritional outcomes. It highlights strategies for empowering women farmers, such as securing land rights, providing access to financial services, offering agricultural training, and promoting women’s participation in decision-making. The study concludes that empowering women in agriculture is essential for enhancing food security, offering a pathway to sustainable development and resilience in food systems worldwide. This research underscores the need for gender-sensitive policies that foster equality and inclusivity to ensure a more secure and equitable global food future.
